Coping with the Anniversary of September 11th The National Mental Health Association (NMHA) has prepared resources for adults, children and employers to help ease the emotional stresses tied to the one year anniversary of September 11th. NMHA has also compiled a list of guidelines for media organizations to assist them in helping viewers to cope.

Si Tiene Diabetes, Cuide Su Corazon (If You Have Diabetes, Take Care of Your Heart), a national health awareness campaign sponsored by the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), is centered around materials designed to educate Hispanics with diabetes and their families about their increased risk for heart disease and about ways to lower this risk. El Poder de Controlar Su Diabetes Esta en Sus Manos (The Power to Control Diabetes Is in Your Hands), a free bilingual brochure for people with diabetes, can be downloaded at http://ndep.nih.gov/materials/2001campaign/spanishbrochure.pdf. The National Latino Diabetes Initiative [NLDI]), www.nldi.org - a project of the National Council of La Raza. a bilingual Web site dedicated to providing the latest news and educational information about diabetes for the Hispanic community. The Web site serves as a resource for community members and direct-service providers; it includes (1) updated information about current and upcoming events around the country and about funding opportunities, (2) job announcements, and (3) links to other sources of information about diabetes.
